7:29 pm	I guess I have a lot to catch up on I have so much to say that I need bullet points! * Mr. Z and I went to see a production of You Can’t Take It With You this afternoon. God, it was so good! Just delightful – a really flawless production. Then we went out for an early dinner. All in all, a very good day, and the first time that I haven’t been blue since I lost my job. * I’ve been fortunate to have some awesome ficlets and comment fic written for me lately. In the holiday/vacation madness I neglected to save them, but I have hunted them down and linked them below. These are the ones I could recall and they are all so freakin’ fantastic. If you wrote me something & I didn’t list it here, would you remind me? toestastegood – Sawyer/Sayid. This is so fantastic and haaaawt. holycitygirl – Izzie/Denny! I love this pairing and Lee’s fic is so perfectly them! lenina20 - Resentment Rides High, just a hint of Sawyer/Sayid! Yes, she wrote S/Sd - she is too good to me! gemjam - Tesselation, Sawyer/Sayid. And since God knows when whatever ails me is going to right itself, I'm posting them now instead of waiting til I have more. 10:21 am	Happy New Year! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! I hope 2009 is a wonderful year for us all! I think it will be a better year. There's an event in 20 days that gives me hope for good times ahead. We had a quiet new year's eve. Mr. Z made dinner, then we watched The Twilight Zone marathon and I finished a fic - hallelujah. It's been a while. My writing feels stilted and rusty, but I pushed myself through it anyway. I haven't posted a fic in two months, which makes me feel sad. I haven't done any end-of-year memes, cuz I just haven't had it in me. Haven't made any resolutions either, though maybe I'll come up with something today. I thought I'd do a 2008 fic round-up though, just because, even though I haven't written all that much. ( My 2008 Fic Round-Up ) (Comment on this)

11:50 am	Have a Great Holiday! A very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and - if you're not celebrating anything in particular... have a good day! It's snowing (again) but so far it looks like we'll be able to fly to CA today. *crosses fingers* If so, I'll be on dial-up (except for when I sneak away to a coffee shop) so I won't be around much for a few days. 2:00 pm	Wow. It's supposed to snow again tonight and tomorrow. 6 - 8 more inches. I just can't believe it. This is so strange. I'm starting to wonder if it's caused by global warming or something. I have been meaning to post to say that clearly I will not be completing the holiday ficlets I owe by Christmas. I've been distracted with other things as well as reading actual books and doing other stuff rather than writing. My muse is in a funny place - I enjoy writing when I sit down to do it, but I'm not really in the mood and am easily distracted. Anyway, I'm hoping to have a couple of ficlets ready to post tomorrow, if all goes well, and then the rest after Christmas sometime. I haven't been doing the happiness meme, but you know, today I really feel like I want to acknowledge some things that make me happy. ~ beautiful snow! ~ friends, offline and on, here and gone ~ that my dad is still healthy and going strong at 87 ~ sitting in front of the fire and reading a good book ~ being employed, even in an imperfect job ~ that I am fortunate enough to get to travel every once in a while ~ baking cookies with Mr. Z ~ writing ~ new Impverse fic at and more to come! 2:38 pm	Merry Fucking Xmas OMG you guys. After being on hold for an hour with Alaska, I got our trip to CA rescheduled, but we're flying late afternoon on Christmas day. And there's nothing on other airlines before then either, I checked, so this is the best we can do. This totally fucks up my holiday and I'm so bummed out! I still have to come back on the 29th because of work, so I only get 3 days in CA. I know I'll deal with it once I just get used to the idea but right now I am so sad. And I have to call my dad and tell him and he's going to be so disappointed. :( BUT, as if specifically to cheer me up, cards arrived just now from uhzoomzip, gottalovev (lovely painting, Lou!) and maeby_surely. The timing couldn't have been better to lift my spirits. (Comment on this)

2:59 pm	Is the world coming to an end? It has been snowing for the past 24 hours. Snowing without stopping! This does not happen in Seattle, not never! It is INSANE. We have like a foot of snow in the back yard! We live on a super-busy street and there are hardly any cars at all going by. The city is pretty well shut down. Mr. Z and I are supposed to be flying to Oakland tomorrow, but Idk if we can even get to the airport, though Mr. Z scoffs at that. He grew up in New England and can pretty much drive in anything. I grew up in California and surrender the wheel at the first frosty flake. He does have a Bronco though, and it's a good snow car, so we probably could make it to the airport, but whether our flight will be going is another question. Because of the snow I haven't got my Xmas shopping for Mr. Z and my dad done (haven't driven anywhere in a week), but I'll have a couple of days to shop in CA, and since we're having a basic Xmas (i.e. few gifts) it should be okay. I just wanted to go to REI and get Mr. Z a pair of Keen's but that requires driving, so that won't happen, so I think I'll have to just give him an IOU. I'm going out into the Winter Wonderland to see if I can get a haircut and a Starbuck's white chocolate mocha (YUM!!). I have a feeling the barber shop is closed, but we'll see. 7:56 am	Snow Day! I have ANOTHER snow day today!!! Holy crap! And this time there is actual SNOW. A LOT of it. It's snowing hard right now. V. exciting, especially as Friday is my day off and Monday I leave for a week in CA. So no work until the 30th. Woo-hoo!! Today I have to clean house (bleh, but it must be done) and then I will bake cookies and write porn. Work before play, right? (Comment on this)
